Windy Monday May 5, 35-45knts

More good wind coming.
Prepare for a Monday morning session on the Estuary, Hi tide @ 9am.

Followed by low tide (3pm ) afternoon session at the beach .

Monday Forecast :
Northeast rising to 35 knots gusting 45 knots in the morning, then easing to 25 knots gusting 35 knots in the evening. Sea becoming very rough in the morning, easing in the evening.

For the speed freaks 
35-45kts marine means 40-50 kts at GreenPark……lets go.

Water level 1.22 on Thursday so plenty of that.
Should be very fast conditions.

Monday WAS good for kitesurfing/windsurfing.

Tide on the Estuary from 2pm till Dark . High tide approx 4pm..

Nb; Greenpark is usually 30-50% more wind speed. Bring your 5 metre!

  lake level is 0.96m which means plenty of water (we need above 0.85 to sail).See you there!

Sup session Lake Pegasus- Sunday 8nd March

We had fun SUP racing for the keen ones , with technical tips for those wanting to improve.
Good turn out, especially as the weather was overcast . Had a great time on the lake followed by a solid surf session on the beach..

2014 DROP IN WAVE COMP

CWA Drop in wave event ..Wednesday the 26th of feb provided all the ingrediants necessary for a great DROP IN wave contest,- 20 knots, good sized waves and 25 riders ready to smash, slash, float and carve it up.

And so at the crack of 6pm all hell broke lose as the riders headed out for an epic expression session to show there skills to the judges and maybe make it to the TOP 8.
Aerials, dodging and some awesome wave riding soon dominated the ocean vista in front of the judges tower (aka, da sand dunes).Lucas and John Thyne were first to make the cut followed by Aaron, Jason Tweedie, Karl, Alex Bec, Matt Dimock and Jo Scorgie.In the windsurfing final we had Al Taylor from Groundswell tearing it up, Taylor Boyd also getting plenty of wave action and being cheered on by his fans ( his mum was there).That left […]

2014 NZ Windsurf Slalom Nats Results

After 2 days of great racing in Dunedin, Laurence Carey & Gareth Wood were tied on first place . Victory went to Laurence after count back, Laurence with 3 second places , Gareth had 2 seconds & 1 third .

NZ Kiteboarding Nationals, CHC 2014

The Easterly wafted in on Thursday , which allowed a couple of heats for the juniors, but most of the action happened on Friday.
In the end, Friday produced a solid Easterly which allowed all the essential heats to be run .
